What does everybody think of Thousand Trails? I've read a lot of comments and watched a lot of videos on the pros and cons of Thousand Trails (TT) membership club. We got a free year of TT when we bought our rig and camped at several of their locations. Since then, we've bought a TT Elite membership and here are my thoughts. TT is great if you plan on doing A LOT of camping. If you are a weekender, it's probably not for you. Since we're camping pretty much full time now, it's great because we can stay at TT campgrounds for free for 3 weeks straight and we can book 120 days in advance which is great since we're planners. The TT campgrounds vary between locations, so each one has to be judged individually. Most TT's will have "annual/permanent" campers staying there and we have visited some that could use some upgrades and repairs. Most will have plenty of amenities such as pool, clubhouse, putt putt, basketball courts, pool table, etc. So it's hard to really give it a rating but I will say that if you're full timing on a budget, it's the only way to go outside of boondocking at BLM sites out West. That's my take on it.... budget camping, amenities, varying condition based on local management.
